Introduction
8 months have passed since the release of the first volume of Intelligent Toys. At that time we thought that it is impossible for a net label to do a better compilation. Time has passed, things have changed and we after more than five months of work are bringing you the Intelligent Toys 2 compilation. Bigger, longer, fatter. It is a seventh release of Sutemos net label. People say that 7 is a lucky number. We don't know that but what we really know is that we ARE lucky to give you this compilation. Intelligent Toys 2 will come out October 29th. It will feature 24 artists from 11 different countries with 28 tracks in total. The duration of compilation is 141 minutes. None of the tracks have been released before - all of them are exclusive for Intelligent Toys 2. 9 artists have never shared their tracks for any net label. 6 artists featured on this compilation run their own labels. Youngest artist is 16 years old. Some of the IT2 tracks are already planned for CD/LP release. The compilation will weight about 200 MBs and will feature 19 artworks pieces that illustrate the idea of child/toy.

Although Ulrich has been creating music for more than 12 years and had a number of releases under different names his real fame was earned when back in 2000 he release his album Far Away Trains Passing By on the City Centre Offices label. Until now he has released two albums (both on City Centre Offices), contributed his tracks to a bunch of compilations (none of them was mp3) and did a number of remixes. It is a real honour for us to have such an artist on Intelligent Toys 2 compilation.

Sleepy Town Manufacture is among those Russian IDM projects that brought the Sound of Russian Electronica abroad. Most of their music is available on the net labels but that does not really mean that their music is bad. The fact that they were planned for release on Neo Ouija proves it. Tracks O nei and Restrained Ambitions that feature on Intelligent Toys 2 were produced by Alexander Ananyev aka Beautumn (he creates really beautiful ambient pieces under this name). It is already the second time Sleepy Town Manufacture shares the track for Sutemos. The first one was available on the first part of Intelligent Toys.

Maps And Diagrams.
The works done by Tim Martin can hardily be listed here. He already has 3 releases in 2004: the third album of Maps And Diagrams Caoutchouc (Static Caravan) (Polytuft Tech (Expanding) and Free Time (Pause_2) were the previous ones), Tactile Love EP (Arable Records) and Ooganon / Mongolia (Static Caravan). He and Broca revived the activity of Cactus Island label. His tracks will also be found on the fourth volume of the famous Cottage Industries (Neo Ouija) and on Everything is Green (Toytronic). It is no wonder that Lee Norris (aka Metamatics) - the founder of Neo Ouija - and many other people call Maps And Diagrams as the IDM artists of the future. Lopiak - the exclusive track of Tim Martin for Intelligent Toys 2 - shows what he is capable of. This track is already planned for release on Cactus Island.

Steve Broca (aka Broca) is a part of Sovacusa project (another part of it is Maps & Diagrams). The debut of this project was on their own Cactus Island label‘s compilation called Friends We Met Along The Way with track named 116. Another Track of this project featured first volume of Intelligent Toys compilation. The Upcoming compilation of Toytronic called Everything Is Green will also feature their track. The first Part of the project - Tim Martin does not need to be presented any more. As for Broca he has a track on Maps and Diagrams/Broca Split, Koowbwai track on Friends We Met Along The Way and Q=A track on Igloo Trax Vol.1 compilations.Discover the sound of Sovacusa again.

Jonas Munk Jensen (aka Manual) is 22 years old instrumentalist from Denmark. During 4 years he has actually released 6 albums at the most famous labels such as Morr Music, Static Caravan and Darla. All of them were very well rated. From the very start he surprised the listener with his professionalism and with the sound never heard before. And he was only 19 at that time! Later he started to change and turned to be an ambient music artist. We are really proud to have an artist like this on Intelligent Toys 2.

Multiplex is Christian & Roland Dormon brothers from Great Britain. These two guys are in the world of e-music for more than 6 years already. There are best known as the lovers of 8 bit technologies. Although sometimes these old schools are replaced by really gorgeous electronica. They have released 6 albums until now. The most famous of them is pretty extravagant album of synthetic down tempo Frequencies (Toytronic). Mixt (Senton Records) followed it. There you will find remixes of Multiplex by Herrmann & Kleine, Funckarma, EU, Monolake, Phonem, Spark, ISAN and many others. We just have presented their fresh release on Sutemos - With Hands And Feets EP. This time they serve remixes of Shitmat, Dictaphone, Safety Scissors, Fizzarum, Novel 23, Proem and Digitonal. Featured track - 000 - Return - is a sweetly unique fusion of different forms of electronic music.

Verbose.
The real name of English Verbose is Allan Richmond. He doesn't have such solid discography as Manual or Ulrich Schnauss but he does create good music (this is how he made his way to Intelligent Toys 2). His debut album Observe was released in 2003 in our favourite Neo Ouija label. The tracks of Verbose can also be found in some compilations (such as Rewired In My Manor ). Recently Allan has released a CD3" at cactus Island (run by Tim Martin aka Maps + Diagrams) called Resolve.

Those who are into melodic electronic music and love Iceland should known the name of Jonas Thor Gudmundsson aka Ruxpin. He has already released 4 albums on such labels as Elektrolux, Mikrolux (sub-label of Electrolux) and Uni:form Recordings (A Sub-label of the Icelandic Thule label). Jonas has also has some remixes for Icelandic bands Mum and Ampop (he is really good at that). Ruxpin is bringing some cold, beautiful, melodic and exclusive Icelandic tracks to Intelligent Toys 2. He is yet not the last one we are really happy to bring to you.

German Martin Juhls (aka Marsen Jules) is going to make his debut on City Centre Offices at the end of January. This guy is using many different names and is in the world of electronic music for number of years already. But untill now most of his music was released only on virtual labels. Under the name of Marsen Jules he creates cozy instrumental music, ambient reefs, under the name of krill.minima – chrispy organic ambient tunes, under the name of Falter – clickish-dub-house. Seems like City Centre Offices don't want to reveal any details on the new album but everybody already knows that it will be ambient synthesis of synthetic and instrumental sounds. Yair Etziony (aka Vermont) and Rani Golan (aka Smalltalk) is a Faction duo from Rehovot, Isreal. These guys came from nowhere and presented themselves in a best way - they have release their album The End Of Tel Aviv at Neo Ouija label. Yair has been djing and making events as being part of the isolated micropeople collective. used to be a music journalist and lately he started a new label called Interval-recordings with his micropeople friend ido Govrin. Rani Golan been took part in rock groups in the 90s been working as designer and sound designer for the last couple of years. The music of faction is all about textures warm and relaxation. Its all about the love for specific sounds and feel. Its about love for digital aesthetics but holds a lot of nostalgic love to 80s and early 90s sound. Citing the work of Brian eno, Biosphere , 4AD, boards of Canada , Autechre, Ulrich Schnauss, my bloody valentine, Anthony "shake" Shakir, Komet and Alva Noto as being of major influence, Faction somehow try to trace the musical path between the heavy digital sounds of labels like raster-noton and the warm blurry feel of 4AD. I think you will agree that Jewish IDM is not a common thing in the world of electronic music. Though their sound isn't very original or innovating but it has a special feeling in side. A little part of their Universe will warm the Intelligent Toys 2 compilation. Yet one more dream of toy.

It is not secret that we really love Adam Raisbeck (aka Sense) and that his music had a big influence on evolution of Sutemos e-zine. Those who read our articles/reviews and listen to our media already know him. We were really glad to have his beautiful track called Here on the first volume of Intelligent Toys. There are no styles or genres to describe his music. Adam simple calls it Emotional Electronic Music (he has his own label named this Way). His discography includes releases at U-Cover, Neo Ouija, Merck, Monotonik, deFocus and others. There is no need to tell about his past because everything has been written in the article about Sense. There is a fresh is Ontasio/Sense/Tim Koch Split Release on U-Cover. Neo Ouija is also planning to re-release his stunning A View From Vulnerable Place album with a bonus remix CD. Adam is already working on a fresh album that should be released on Neo Ouija. His Oh Yeah Baby track on IT2 is kind of joke/funny love song that is accompanied by a funny artwork piece in the virtual gallery (i think you won't have trouble guessing which one it is). Toys must be fun.

Zegunder is two guys/mates, creating electronic music far far away from here! Even in Israel. They live in the northern part of their country - in the city of Haifa. Alosha Tsinovoi & Gil Cohen. Their lives’ portfolio looks really impressive: Alosha was born in USSR, in the city of Odessa. After some time he immigrated straight into Haifa’s industrial coasts; Gil was born there. Studying piano, Gil turned into the circle of trance music. However, their integrated creation started only three years ago, with the ability to do at least these things at the same time: to sit at home in front of the computer, create music and to defend their country! Ironic, isn’t it? Their first test has been released by one indie music label Fact Records, located in Jerusalem. From that time, they only grew up with every minute. Converted into deeper electronic music’s planes, they connected with glitch. Later on, they released their mini-album, called Thumb Weeds (Audiocollage). Then, lifted higher, where? Straight onto one of the most cosy electronic cloud: Neo Ouija. Their new album Distant Birds? Thought They Were Leaves has been released in the end of September. ENV(itre).
ENV(itre) is a 24 years old Miroslaw Slavomir Majewski. He was born in Poland but lives in Germany from his very childhood. The fame to this artist was brought by taking part in two massive compilations: Rewired In My Minor, which was compiled by the founder of Neo Ouija label - Metamatics. A hit of calmness Blue Moon Rising by ENV(itre) could be found there. Next was more colourful Atodeq that was included into traditional compilation of Neo Ouija - Cottage Industries 2. It was the most impressive track among all. So this collaboration of ENV(itre) and Lee Norris (Metamatics) is much promising and we will probably see this artist on Neo Ouija some day.

EU.
EU is an abbreviation of two Russian words that mean deal toys. The band consists of two musicians - Alexander Zaitsev and Ilya Baramiya. They were among those who manage to bring Russian electronica beyond the borders of Eastern Europe. EU has a pretty solid discography - 5 albums, couple of CD5" and 7", remixes and tracks on the compilations released on such labels as Merck, n5MD, Neo Ouija, Lo Recordings, Vertical Form, and others. These guys are one of the most famous Russian IDM artists. We are really glad they have joined Intelligent Toys 2.

Praveen is a fresh discovery of Neo Ouija - his album Backed by Spirits is already on the way. There are a lot of rumors about him - he is 17 years old genius with IQ as high as 250, he is already married and has two kids. He does design for lingerie. We really don't care about that. The only thing that matter is his music which is really beautiful.

Novel23 is Roman Belousov from Moscow Russia, and has had albums released on Art-Tek and Pitchcadet, as well as appearing on a number of compilations. He is also known for running the Shaped Harmonics label (which has released albums of Sintetika, Ambidextrous, Dunaewsky 69 and others). He is yet not the last one Russian musician that has joined the compilation.

Finnish Esa Ruoho (aka Lackluster) does not need to be presented for those who are into IDM music. ML is Rian, Tanner and Laid from Portland (USA). They have been together for twelve years already. All this time they were producing music under many different names. The most famous album of their was released at American n5MD label. After a long period of silence this year we have their new limited edition album Man Is The Warmest Place To Hide (Piehead Records). The track of ML track can also be found on The Mafia Rip Bin compilation (n5MD). They are one of those who already sounded on the first volume of Intelligent Toys. We have received many compliments about the unexpected and interesting sound of Ukelangelo so we are glad to collaborate with these Portland guys once more. They are different and that’s delightful.

If you know Monotonik net label you should also known Unit21 because this guy has produces one of the most beautiful tracks on it: Unit 21 - Lain: I Care. This project was founded by Stanislav Vdovin and Eugene Martynov. Although they are pretty young they strive to make a very quality electronic music. Intelligent Toys 2 features two tracks of theirs - Yellow and a Remix of Sleepy Town Manufacture - O Nei which reveal a future potential of this talented musical duo.

The founder of Tokyo based SAAG label Taro Peter Little (aka Sabi) is pretty well known in the world of electronic music. Although there aren't no of his real albums around but he has already shared his tracks for such compilations as Rewired In My Manor (Hydrogen Dukebox), Double Down (Merck) and for two compilations of SAAG records: Hiiro and Anchor. Lovers of electronic music could also enjoy his sound on Monotonik and Eerik Inpuj Sound net labels - in 2002 he has released two calm and beautiful pieces of ambient music there. Finally, we are able to bring his music to for those who do not yet know him. Sabi's Uki Reflection is a real elixir of calmness.

Mint (Murray Fisher) is co-owner of UK label Boltfish Recordings, graphic designer and owner of urban clothing label Trickster. He has been creating music since his early childhood and has always been fascinated with the process of making sound and music. His music for Boltfish Recordings has received airplay, recognition and reviews across the globe. His tracks Albert the Bull and Eskimo Hole feature on Machinations 4.2 released by Raw42 music as well as on his Audubon EP, the first release on Boltfish Recordings. A further release on Boltfish Recordings is planned for the end of 2004 with planned remixes and possible live performances in 2005.

We are really glad to have a Lithuanian artist on Intelligent Toys 2 compilation although he is the only one. Liudas is 21 years old and has been making music for four years already. Sound of Jazz, Classical music, chill out, drum & bass, ambient and IDM is that what he likes but he does not want any of these sound influence his own music. Liudas's track on the compilation is meant for those who want to hear - the intangible ideas are expressed through the sound. Very inspiring.
NDelay.
Daniel Avramov (aka NDelay) is only 16 years old and he is the youngest artists on the Intelligent Toys 2. In spite of his age this Russian e-producer makes really beautiful music. The inspiration of Daniel's music comes from Aphex Twin, Prefuse73, Mu-ziq, Autechre and...Impulse Tracker. His sound is like a fusion of the music he listens, his own ideas, moods and cultural background. This might be the first time you hear of him but I can assure you that it is not the last one. Generic Host Process - the track of his will prove you that.
