This summer we release yet one more Sutemos compilation. This time it will be different from the previous ones. Full of summer's evening beauty Red, Green, Blue & Other Summer Feelings will be dedicated to something that can be named as a soft mixture of post/indie rock, instrumental, synth, ambient music with a sprinkle of electronic experiments. Additionally, almost all tracks will be featured by vocals. The works on this compilation started last autumn. From the very beginning we tried to concentrate on esthetics and beauty, not names. No numbers, no facts, no data - just pure and gorgeous beauty. This summery sad and longing compilation will feature artworks from a little fairy No_joy that will be filled with sincerity, tenderness and calmness.
stockfinster.
stockfinster is a band from Malmö, Sweden and consists mainly of batti who writes, plays, arranges and mixes everything – sometimes with a little help from his musical friends. stockfinster was once a band – with real instruments and vocals – but after a long period of playing in a stuffy rehearsal-room, the tension became too strong and the band split. Everybody went on to pursue their musical aspirations, and Batti kept the name of stockfinster for his own electronical soundscapes. batti himself is a sound-engineer/producer and co-owner of the recording studio Gula Studion in Malmö. Every now and then the two worlds merge and a lot of his songs have shifted many times between the analogue platform of Gula Studion and the experimental software in batti’s home.
Even though stockfinster has been around for quite some time, and has been rather productive, nothing has ever been released or even submitted to any labels. We were happy enough to be the first who heard stockfinster’s music. The tracks that feature Red, Green, Blue & Other Summer Feelings compilation are quite old and represent the crossover between stockfinster, the rock band, and stockfinster, the electronic artist.
All Becomes Music was originally intended as an ambient track with no drums at all. It was because of the wonderful vocal melody supplied by good friend Helena Josefsson that the song took off in another direction. Wonderful feelings above the heart.
A Crack In Time is featuring the vocal and bass guitar of stockfinster’s former bassplayer Jonas Hult. Probably one of the most beautiful songs on Red, Green, Blue & Other Summer Feelings compilation...

His real name is Robert Lyon. Thus far, Ylid can be found lurking on two compilations. The first on his home-town Bristol's Float Records sampler CD-R alongside Static Caravn's Bronnt Industries Kapital. The second materialized on the Cactus Island Recordings 2004 Christmas compilation Stop, Look, Wave. Ylid's music has developed from its early IDM origin into a wholly organic sound employing instruments where he can find them. He also enjoys restitching other people's music. 'Saccade', his first E.P. as Ylid, is due to be released on Cactus Island later this year as a part of the Residents Association series. Currently he is collaborating with Tim Martin, a.k.a Maps and Diagram, on an album to be released soon. Tim and Rob respond to the name 'Somme'.
Binding Of A Fraction is a very personal an intimate track that feels like a warm evening of solitude in the fields.

FusedMARc is with no doubt one of the most interesting musical projects in all Baltic countries. They already have released their debut Contraction EP on Sutemos which was really widely acclaimed for its beauty and the highest quality. Magical and charming voice (Cilia), non-stop nerve hitting guitar effects (Nurasho), streams of groovebox coming from the depths of electronic sea (Norberth) and visuals full of strangest feelings (VJ Sirtha). All this eclectic combination is followed by the energy that comes from live drums – it does not leave a single possibility to change your heartbeat.
Music that evolves in the manner of plastic lightness and is pulsating with energy at the same time. Critics are already calling it the most talented group in Lithuania. It reflects the best moods of Bjork, Broadcast, Stereolab, Portishead and other super talents that offer diving into deeper level of personal fantasies. Every song is like materializing an individual model of life. Singer who is rolled into trance is showing the way to the inside. In spite of the fact that this band is pretty young it already managed to take worthy place in the musical scene of Eastern Europe. The music of FusedMARc is going through mysterious and puzzling labyrinths to the world that is full of harmony and contraindications.

Sleepy Town Manufacture.
Sleepy Town Manufacture has made its mark on Intelligent Toys and Intelligent Toys 2 compilations. He is among those Russian IDM projects that brought the Sound of Russian Electronica abroad. Most of their music is available on the net labels but he has recently released his CD album called Play Me While (Its cover artwork actually features the photo from the first part Of Intelligent Toys). Long Time No See was produced by Alexander Ananyev aka Beautumn (he creates really beautiful ambient pieces under this name). This piece of art should feature his new upcoming album, too.
Long Time No See continues the best traditions of a little, fresh musical direction of Sleepy Town Manufacture with a fairy voice of Inna. Take it easy.

Marsen Jules.
German Martin Juhls (aka Marsen Jules) couple of months ago has released his debut album Herbstlaub on famous City Centre Offices. This wonderful ambient peace was widely acclaimed by all electronic music fans all over the world. This just can be untrue with wonderful spring ambient calmness. It is already the third time Martin features a Sutemos compilation: first appearance was on the widely acclaimed Intelligent Toys 2 compilation. The second appearance was under a different moniker - Krill.Minima. Apart of these two he is also known as Falter - he produces clickish-dub-house under this one (it seems that he has forgot it for some time already).
Couer Saignantis a typical ambient piece of his filled with strange and cozy space and with live instruments that makes us feel special about this track.

Reed Rothchild is the assumed alias of Jess Stroup, a composer and multi-instrumentalist living in Los Angeles. Using analog synths, live instruments, and electro-acoustic textures, Jess creates a unique brand of melodic electronic music that is emotional and cinematic in nature. Since 2002, Reed Rothchild has released two discs on Nophi Recordings, in addition to writing music for film, television, and commercials. Reed Rothchild can be found performing around Southern California as an active member of the Fateless Flows Collective.
The Great Century is a little piece of his soul that features fellow FFC member Laura Escudé on violin. Lovely.

Sepia hours is an indietronica/post-modern songwriting project by the Belgian artist Sébastien Biset. An emphasis on fragmented forms, discontinuous narratives, and random-seeming collages of different materials. Sébastien Biset needs to control his explorations, using his simple instruments in unconventional ways. However, the mood is not dark, but rather calm and peaceful. The landscape of sound is very serene. Dreamy vocals and ambient grooves, layers and melodies continue to appear, a series of interconnecting lines move with the waves of music. Harmonies and playful quality made it accessible... Between instrumental minimalism, indie songs, experimentation and electronics, whispers and veiled samplers, between attempts and unavoidable errors, sounds investigations try to come as pure organic material.

Carl Martin aka Transient has been producing electronic music since 1994 and non-electronic music since his young years. Through the local BBS scene he was introduced to tracking software, and is still using trackers as his basic composition tool to this day. He has a discography spanning more then 40 releases in a multitude of genres. Aside from a load of netlabel and some commericial releases Transient runs a Noisy Vagabond web site to distribute his 'extra material' like mini-albums made with a Palm handheld and other oddities, and his twisted artwork. He is currently working on an album to be released on Apegenine Records. Carl spends most of his time fine tuning his art and music skills, and taking lots of hikes in upstate New York.
Castor sings us the white songs about calm beauty sleeping somewhere in snowy mountains. You will make a wonderful dream out of it.

Pandatone was created in 2001 after Trevor Sias moved to NYC. The original idea of this project was to explore areas of sound and music outside of beats. But of course we can see how that went. Pandatone is constantly ill at ease with the balance of the electronic music he makes, and the pop music he loves. The first Pandatone record, Lemons & limes was released on our beloved Neo Ouija label and his second release, a mini LP What has nature done for me recently, is slated to be released on Austria's Skylab Operations later in the summer of 2005.
Only To Sleep In has a very strong and weird feeling of loneliness, blame and sincerity inside. The singing voice will bring you further than you expect...

Vancouver band Readymade is Arch (guitar, vocals), J Gittes (bass), Kevin Hilts (keyboards), dt (guitars), and Dr. Roberts (drums). They compose an experimental fusion of space rock guitars and melodic dreamscapes similar to the likes of My Bloody Valentine, New Order and Hood. The band’s debut record was The Dramatic Balanced released in 1997. A 7" single, entitled The Block Alone, was issued shortly thereafter and Readymade gained a much broader exposure. After a long break and a merger with members of the brooding Pipedream, Readymade issued On Point and Red in fall 2001 on Endearing Records. In 2005, the band released their third record, All The Plans Resting, on the excellent Where Are My Records.

In 1995 Matthias Neuefeind and Florian Dölzer meet at a bus station. Matthias is wearing a faith no more t-shirt - this is how you get into conversation. A musical project develops out of the developing friendship (how does friendship develop?). Matthias plays the guitar, Florian the drums and the whole thing sounds like a hardcore/punk mixture until about 1997. The names and line-ups of the projects are changing permanently, probably also because the two don’t like to admit the influences of others, while pursuing their musical ideas. As a duo Matthias and Florian have recorded two albums. Musically they are between indierock, punk and postrock. Supported by the entirely positive feedback, Matthias and Florain have decided to bring their ideas into the studio. After this long way, the record finally arrived at your place and will hopefully give you pleasure.
